Boost after fitting HKS SSQV

5 posts in this topic

Right lads

I've finally managed to find a decent second hand SSQV locally, so fitted it the other day

unfortunately I was back offshore the day after, so only managed one quick local blast to test it. Sounds excellent and not nearly as noisy as I thought it would be. Watching the boost gauge on full throttle in 3rd and 4th (normally where my over-boost light blips on hills) the boost was only just creeping over the 0.5 mark. Normally it passes 1.0 without much effort.

Is this normal? It felt like it was pulling fine but I'm sure it should be making more boost than it is. What could be causing that?

Any help appreciated

Sounds like you have a boost leak somewhere, is the boost okay when you remove the hks

it was making over 1.0 just before, so it was fine

I re-used the intercooler gasket, so I'm wondering if that's the issue

I'll need to get the Snoop out then... that's all that has changed so should be easy enough to find
